Seeing new state records being broken for fish is always a great sign. Its great knowing the fish are doing well in those fisheries where they are able to grow so big, and it keeps us other fisherman excited to get back out there and chase after our own personal best or better yet a state record!
On March 26, 2019 Jeremy Lorenze of Michigan was visiting his cousin in Tennessee, they decided to go fishing and Jeremy bought a 3 day license. Lorenzecaught an absolute hog of a perch that weighed 2lbs and 5 ounces. It measured 15.75″ long.
The crazy part is the two fishermen noticed a bald eagle cirling and hovering around, so they figured they should go try over there. They rolled up threw out some minnows on their lines and he hooked a big one. They originally figured it was a Bass they shortly after realized it was a giant perch.
Good for Jeremy. Going to be tough to beat that one!
